The installation of First Years True Fit Recline Convertible Car Seat was very easy with the external LATCH system. Even if you have an older car model, there won’t be any problems with the installation.
True Fit is the only car seat manufacturer with the removable head rest for rear facing installation. By removing the top portion adults in the driver position have more legroom than what is available using competitive convertible car seats.
This car seat is highly adjustable and the effort to switch from different positions is minimal. Removable headrest allows for better rear facins installation, which is a great addition. Center angle indicator is very easy to read and has two position settings. The multi position crotch strap adjustment and easy-off pads work great and we had no issues with them.
Another huge feature is the external adjustment of the harness. Virtually all other manufacturers require you to rethread their harness in order to make adjustments. Utilizing an external adjustment simplifies the process and assures you of proper installation.
One of the features we especially like is the built-in lock-offs for both forward and rear facing position. If you get this car seat, you will absolutely love the color-coded belt paths since they make the installation a breeze.
The external measurements for our seat are comparable to all other major competitors. The big difference lies in the internal dimensions where we are wider and deeper allowing the child to better fit in the seat ergonomically for a longer life cycle. Another big issue is cushioning where the child sits as our seats offer more padding in all areas of contact.
