Car seat clinic set for Jan. 24

The Car Seat Law has been able to remain in the news since the day it was implemented for one reason or the other. Recently, different cities and states have been taking initiative to enlighten parents to handle the car seat properly because most of the parents ain’t aware of this basic thing. The Riverside Police Department of California will be conducting a special event on Tuesday in regards to the new car seat law.

The car seat law came into being on the 1st of January for ensuring safety of the kids. According to this law, kid have to use booster seat till they are 8 years or their height is 4 feet 9 inches. This event will have technicians from various departments such as Riverside Police Department, Inland Empire Safe Kids and California Highway Petrol.

Car Seat Check Up Event in East Peoria

Car Seat Law has already been implemented in most of the states of U.S. but the irony is that still most of the parents don’t even know proper usage of car seats. The basic reason car seats have been made compulsory is because in case of an accident they ensure complete safety of kids. Though the law is made compulsory but parents aren’t able to properly install the car seats and this is one of the reasons why events like car seat check up is being held at different cities and states. Such an event will be organized at East Peoria Fire Department Central Guidelines, 201. W. Washington St. The timing of the event will be between 1 pm to 4 pm. The event is dated on 1st February.

Infant’s Life Saved by Car Seat

It has been just couple of weeks since Car Seat Law has come into effect and there have been already lots of talks about it’s effectiveness. There is no doubt that it is a boon  when it comes to ensuring child’s safety. During accidents kids can get away unhurt and this is what happened when an infant survived in a horrific crash.

The firefighters and Highway Patrol officers of California credited the car seat for saving the life of the infant who is just 10 weeks old. A deadly car crash took place on U.S. Highway 101 at Santa Barbara but thanks to proper installation of car seat, child went unhurt.

Free Indoor Car Seat Checkup

Car Seat law has been implemented in different states from January 1st. The governments are leaving no stone unturned in order to ensure that this law is successful and properly implemented across the entire state.

Child safety needs to be the prime criteria and this is the core issue of this new law. In most of the cases parents tend to avoid the safety of their kids, this law will forbid them to do so. An Insight on New Car Seat Regulations in Canada

The New Car Seat Law has been implemented in numerous states simultaneously on January 1st and Canada is also a part of this list. In recent times, Canadian Government has been vigilant and performing regular testing, as it wants to ensure that people follow the newly implemented car seat regulations for keeping the children safe. The testing is a subject to change based on the technological advances of the equipments. It is seen that changes in the car seat regulations had a great impact on current testing. Following are few changes:

  • Vehicles need to have three-point seat belt for ensuring complete safety.
  • A kid would be termed infant until he/she weighs 10 kg; previously this limit was 9 kg.
  • There’s an increase in the maximum weight which can allowed on the car seat, the weight limit has been increased from 22 kg to 30 kg.
  • There has been introduction of few dynamic testing requirements.

New Car Seat Law Hailed by Parents

The car seat law has already been implemented and has been accepted by one and all unanimously. Much has been written about it but we are yet to listen what parents had to say about the new law because after all it’s their kids who are using these car seats. Wendy Ng, a parent and a financial consultant said that while looking out for a maid, she had kept an unusual condition- the mail must not too big.

However, this was two years back, when she had a small car but now since the things have changed and she has a bigger car, things are not the same, as it used to be. In her case, things were fine because she could get a new car but things are not so bright for other families who have fewer resources and they want to accommodate more passengers in to the car.

Car Seat will Now Act Like a Touchscreen

With the advancement of technology, we get to see innovative things in our everyday life. For instance, soon we will have a technology which will let us adjust the volume of radio, turning on the window shields or rolling down the windows just by car seat. Seems like a car directly taken from a Bond Movie but this is true, cars will soon have such car seats which will act like touch screen.

The development of Soft-polymer-based fiber having electrical properties, which responds to touch, is being considered by many car companies. BHW may take the first stride forward and install the so-called fabric seats in their car models set to be launched in the coming years. Maksim Skorobogatiy, a researcher in Montreal’s Polytechnic school, stated that they are are trying to come up with a technology of Smartphone technology in the textile form.

Nuts and Screws Missing from Britax Convertible Car Seats

 

Car Seat Law has been in the news since its implementation in few states; everyone seems to be talking and discussing about it. Initially, very few states had implemented it but with each passing week, the numbers are increasing. Every state is now taking Child Car seat law seriously. Britax, a leading manufacturer of Children Car seats recently announced on its website that there are few convertible child car seats, which have loose nuts or screws. Since the nuts or screws were inappropriately inserted, so they were separated from base joint connector. These car seats were manufactured between the years July 2010 to August 2011. It is also important to note that Britax did not point out exactly how many seats were defective.

Parents Informed Importance of Car Seats for Children

An official from Sharjah’s Supreme Council of Family Affairs stressed the importance and the need of using car seats for children by giving instance of the 63 percent of death of children within the 14 years of age. All these deaths are due to road accidents.

Council’s Head of Health Promotion Department, Khadeeja Al Mansouri opines that car seats are capable of protecting children and they can reduce car accidents to approximately 71%. She also said that, among all the road accidents which took place in the city, 83% of those in such accidents who used car seats went unhurt.
